Headshot of Nicholas Peck

Nick Peck has managed a wide range of matters – including international due diligence exercises, sovereign asset searches, and litigation support, fraud, and short seller/activist investigations – for more than 30 years.

Nick’s investigative career is distinguished by his work on numerous complex matters requiring his expertise in building and executing thoughtful and creative investigative strategies tailored to meet his clients’ objectives. With extensive experience in a wide range of domestic and international matters, he deftly handles assignments that transcend technical, legal, regulatory, and geographic boundaries.

Prior to joining Nardello & Co., Nick opened the South African office of an international investigations firm, where his cases included, among others, a fraud investigation involving a state-owned bank that led to numerous convictions and security audits of several mine sites for a major gold producer losing an estimated 5% of product through theft.

Representative matters

  • Led Nardello & Co.’s independent investigation into allegations made by several media outlets and non-governmental organizations about abusive labor practices affecting the thousands of migrant workers who built New York University’s campus in Abu Dhabi.
  • While investigating a payment processing scheme, Nick identified bank accounts and documented instances of money laundering that formed the basis for federal prosecution.
  • While researching an energy company in arbitration, Nick identified numerous undisclosed related party transactions and prior bad acts; information instrumental in gaining a favorable outcome for our client.
  • In connection with a multi-billion- dollar arbitration, Nick led an investigation of oligarchs that documented false statements to US courts and regulatory agencies made in an attempt to hide the ownership of assets — information that was used to inform the client’s legal strategy.
