Nardello & Co. Partner & Counsel to the CEO Howard Master was interviewed by Colleen Murphy of the New Jersey Law Journal about the legal and factual issues associated with the George E. Norcross III prosecution.
During their interview, Howard explained one of the challenges that the New Jersey attorney general may face during his criminal pursuit against businessman Norcross: “It is not enough for someone to say, ‘Are you threatening me?’ and for the charged person to say, ‘Yes, I am.’ That is not sufficient to constitute viable conduct. Lawyers threaten litigation, to walk away from a deal, or induce a business partner to walk away from a deal, all the time. None of that, by itself, is improper.”
