Nardello & Co is pleased to announce the opening of its Paris office, which is led by a team of recognised investigative professionals: Alice Noizet, a former lawyer and investigator from France’s financial markets authority (Autorité des marchés financiers – AMF) and Puneet Kakkar, former Department of Justice prosecutor and attaché to France and Monaco.
Nardello & Co. is a highly reputed global investigations firm that specializes in complex assignments where the outcome is critical for its clients: these include corruption-related investigations, civil and white-collar criminal litigation and arbitration support, M&A and corporate control contests, asset tracing, reputational due diligence and strategic intelligence. Notable clients in France include the French president and his wife, whom the firm is assisting in a defamation case against a US podcaster.
Founded in London and headquartered in New York, the firm also has offices in Dubai, Hong Kong, Singapore, Los Angeles, San Francisco and Washington DC. The firm’s professionals include former prosecutors and lawyers, former law enforcement personnel, research analysts, financial crime specialists, forensic accountants, and computer forensic experts.
Chris Morgan Jones, EMEA Regional Managing Director for Nardello & Co, stated: “opening an office in Paris will extend our ability to meet the growing need for specialist, complex, ethical investigations in France and the EU. Having Alice and Puneet in Paris allows us to serve our existing French clients on their home turf, and to find new opportunities to help global clients in France and beyond. We’re delighted to welcome such outstanding professionals to the team. This new office, in addition to the launch of our Financial Investigations and Forensic Accounting practice last year, reinforces Nardello & Co’s position as the go-to firm for complex cross-border investigations.”
Managing Director Alice Noizet, a qualified lawyer and an expert investigator, will lead the Paris office. Alice joins the firm from Forvis Mazars, where she was the partner heading the French forensic team and coordinating the global investigation practice. Alice previously worked for the AMF, where she investigated cases of insider trading and market manipulation. Alice assists clients with both French and cross-border projects, focusing on dispute support and internal investigations relating to fraud, corruption and HR matters, including harassment and discrimination. Alice is recognised as a legal expert by French courts and acts as a financial expert in the context of disputes and enforcement proceedings.
Puneet Kakkar serves as a Managing Director and Senior Counsel for EMEA. He brings extensive international prosecutorial and diplomatic experience to his new role. A former US federal prosecutor, Puneet has worked across Europe, the United States, and the Middle East, investigating and advising on matters involving cybercrime, corruption, the FCPA, sanctions enforcement, money laundering, cryptocurrency, and transnational criminal enforcement.
Most recently, working from the US Embassy in Paris, Puneet was the US Department of Justice attaché to France and Monaco and served as the principal liaison between US prosecutors and French and Monegasque judicial authorities.
Dan Nardello, Executive Chairman of Nardello & Co. says “France and the wider EU are vital markets for us, and I know that Alice and Puneet will be able to help grow our business both in France and globally. Their arrival guarantees that we can offer our European clients the highest level of expertise, service, and integrity”.
Alice Noizet says: “Joining Nardello & Co. enhances my ability to offer French companies and lawyers the best expertise in investigations, and access to a unique collective of high-level professionals able to operate all over the world. In particular, their global reach and expertise will prove essential when French groups face complex situations outside of France.”
Puneet Kakkar says: “Nardello & Co. offers the best of what I pursued as a US prosecutor, as a diplomat, and as a lawyer in private practice: cutting-edge investigation of complex cyber- and financial crime to protect the interests of honest actors in the economy. I look forward to delivering disciplined, fact-driven investigative work to Nardello & Co. clients, and am honored to be asked to help expand the firm’s business in France.”
