Nardello & Co. Co-Hosts Seminar in Milan

Lord Peter Goldsmith and the Honorable Michael B. Mukasey, former Attorney General of the United States, addressed a seminar on Managing Cross Border Criminal Liability. The seminar, hosted by Nardello & Co and Debevoise & Plimpton LLP, was held in Milan. The focus of the seminar was on defending and protecting corporations against criminal liability as they work and compete in jurisdictions with often conflicting and complex laws and regulations. Sessions addressed the role of self-regulation in deterring fraudulent and criminal conduct in the jurisdictions of Italy, the UK and US and their cross-border implications. Further sessions were held on the consequences and actions to take as a result of a failure to self regulate. The seminar concluded with a session on the use of corporate governance and compliance as vehicles for the protection of the corporation.
