Nardello & Co. was engaged by counsel to a US company pursuing legal action under the Helms-Burton Act, which allows Americans to seek damages from entities that profit from property formerly owned by US citizens but confiscated by Cuba after the Cuban Revolution. The case involved a foreign energy manufacturer and several logistics firms accused of using a Cuban port facility that Cuba had confiscated. Through detailed analysis of shipping records, export licenses, marine logistics and satellite tracking data, as well as open-source research and human-source inquiries, Nardello & Co. helped the client demonstrate that the defendants shipped equipment through American territory en route to the confiscated port.  The evidence collected by the Nardello & Co. team provided significant support for a nearly $100 million claim under the Helms-Burton Act.
