Executing a monitorship where a firm principal was indicted for racketeering
Nardello & Co. conducted a monitorship of a waste hauler and recycling firm with operations in New York, New Jersey, and Massachusetts after one of the firm’s principals was indicted on federal racketeering charges. Working on behalf of the New York City Business Integrity Commission, Nardello & Co. investigators conducted a forensic accounting review of the firm’s operations, interviewed management and employees at all levels of the operations, and identified questionable relationships and transactions. In addition to continual monitoring of the firm’s operations, the team made recommendations to implement measures to prevent recurrence of compliance deficiencies and prevent corrupt activities.
