Vetting supply chain companies in Latin America, Europe, and the Middle East.
In accordance with its anti-corruption compliance guidelines, a major consumer products company planning an overseas expansion needed to undertake due diligence exercises on their projected supply chain companies in Latin America, Europe, and the Middle East. These reviews consisted of a reputational assessment of local media and trade sources in various languages, a review of public records for references to compliance or other governance problems, and discreet source inquiries with business and government contacts. After completing the review of more than 60 companies in eight countries, Nardello & Co. drafted a compliance report that identified potential problem areas. As a result, the client took remedial action where necessary before completing its planned expansion.
