Nardello & Co. has been selected by the Unsecured Creditors Committee (“UCC”) of Purdue Pharma, a manufacturer of prescription opioids, to trace the global assets of the Sackler family, which owned and controlled the company until it filed for bankruptcy.
The Sacklers withdrew over $10 billion in profits from the company in the years before its bankruptcy filing and have concealed assets in jurisdictions around the world using a variety of trusts and other asset protection vehicles. Nardello & Co. is working with the UCC to locate Sackler family assets and develop asset recovery strategies to secure funds for communities and families harmed by opioid abuse.
