Investigating an employee who harassed her colleagues
On behalf of a financial services firm with a senior employee who was engaging in aberrant behavior toward her subordinate and others, Nardello & Co. was retained to conduct a full background investigation of the employee, taking note of her social media postings to determine if they contained any indications of future plans. Our investigative team was also asked to perform a threat assessment of the risks posed by the subject and provide physical security at the client’s offices on the day the firm chose to meet with the employee.
Our researchers documented the subject’s use of three names and two Social Security numbers in the eighteen US jurisdictions in which she had lived as well as her history of violence. Armed with a detailed report of the subject’s personal life and litigation history, and the beneficiaries of a threat assessment, the client’s HR employees and counsel were well prepared when they chose to confront the subject.
